Verify Your Email

Before anything else, confirm your email address from the verification link we sent you.

A verified email matters because it's how you'll receive:

  • Messages from buyers asking about your listing
  • Order notifications when something sells
  • Shipping reminders and payout updates
  • Approval status for your listings

Take the Right Photos

Great photos are the #1 reason listings sell. Only photograph items you physically have in your possession.

Only photograph what's in the listing. If you're selling the lehenga skirt only, don't include photos of the full outfit — it confuses buyers and delays approval.

Add Accurate Measurements

Buyers can't try before they buy, so measurements build trust and reduce returns. Include every measurement that applies to your garment.

Key measurements are non-negotiable. Always include length, chest/bust, and waist — these are the first thing buyers check, and listings without them get skipped. Add hip, shoulder, and sleeve whenever they apply.

Pro tip: Measure the garment flat, not while wearing it. If something is approximate, say so in the description — buyers appreciate transparency.

Write an Honest Description

Be upfront about condition and exactly what's included. This prevents disputes and builds buyer confidence.

Pre-loved means anything that has been worn. Even if it was only worn for a few hours at one event — it is pre-loved, not new. Don't market a pre-loved item as new.
Good Description
  • Lists exact pieces included
  • Honest about condition / wear
  • Notes if blouse / dupatta excluded
  • Mentions designer or brand
Avoid
  • Vague "good condition"
  • Hiding stains or defects
  • Unclear what's in the sale
  • Calling worn items "new"
Example: "Sabyasachi-inspired red bridal lehenga. Worn once for ~5 hours at a reception (pre-loved). Includes skirt + dupatta — blouse NOT included. Minor beadwork repair on left panel, see close-up. Fits UK 10 / US 6."

Stripe tips: Use a desktop browser (Chrome / Firefox) for the smoothest setup. Use the same email you registered with on PurvX. If verification gets stuck, clear your cache and try again.

Shipping Fees & International Buyers

The shipping fee you set on your listing is for domestic shipping by default. International orders need a manual quote.

When an overseas buyer is interested

About customs and duties. International buyers are responsible for any customs charges, import duties, or taxes their country imposes on the parcel. Make this clear upfront so there are no surprises on delivery — we recommend mentioning it in your message before they purchase.
Tip: Major couriers (DHL, FedEx, UPS, Aramex) offer instant rate quotes online. Always quote based on packed weight, not garment weight.
Save on shipping: Before booking direct with a courier, check ParcelMonkey (UK / international) or Pirate Ship (US) — they resell DHL / FedEx / USPS / UPS labels at discounted rates, often 30–60% cheaper than the courier's retail price.

Ship Promptly & Always Share Tracking

Fast dispatch and a tracking number are two of the biggest trust signals on PurvX — they protect both you and the buyer.

Ship within 3 days of receiving an order. Slow dispatch leads to cancellations, disputes, and negative feedback. If something unexpected comes up, message the buyer straight away — communication goes a long way.

PurvX Purchase Protection depends on tracking. If a buyer opens a dispute claiming non-delivery, a valid tracking number is your proof of dispatch. Without one, the case will be decided in the buyer's favour. Always get a tracked service — untracked parcels are not covered.
Tip: Send the buyer a quick message with the tracking number and expected delivery window. It sets expectations and reduces "where's my order?" messages.

Reply Promptly to Buyer Enquiries

Buyers browsing pre-loved fashion are often comparing several listings at once. A fast, friendly reply is frequently the difference between a sale and a missed one.

Delayed replies lose sales. Buyers move on quickly — if you haven't responded within a day or two, they've usually already bought something else. Aim to reply within 24 hours whenever you can.
  • Check your PurvX messages regularly, especially after listing a new item
  • Answer measurement questions, condition questions, and offer requests promptly
  • Even a "let me check and get back to you" keeps the buyer engaged
  • If you're unavailable for a period, mention it in your listing description
Turn on email notifications. Make sure email notifications are enabled for PurvX messages in your account settings so you never miss a buyer enquiry.

Keep All Communication on PurvX

This is the most important rule on PurvX. All messages, negotiations, and transactions must happen on the platform.

Account bans for off-platform transactions are permanent. Sharing phone numbers, WhatsApp, personal email, or accepting payment outside PurvX will get your account suspended permanently — no exceptions, no second chances.

Why this protects you as a seller:

  • Your transactions are covered by PurvX Purchase Protection
  • Dispute support if anything goes wrong
  • Proof of communication if there's a disagreement
  • No risk of scams from unverified off-platform contact
Need to share extra photos or a video with a buyer? Upload them to the listing or send them to support@purvx.com and we'll add them. No need to go off-platform.

Getting Your Listing Approved

Every listing is reviewed by the PurvX team before going live. Here's what to expect after you submit.

After you submit
Review: 2–3 business days Approved → goes live Needs updates → email sent to you
Fastest way to get approved: Make sure Steps 2–4 are completed properly before you submit. Most delays come from missing photos or measurements.

Editing & Managing Your Listing

You can edit your listing yourself anytime — no need to email us. You can update:

  • Photos and the cover image
  • Price and shipping fees (including for international buyers)
  • Measurements and description
  • Stock count
How to edit
Log in Profile → Your Desi Items Click Edit on the listing Save
No re-approval needed for most edits. Price, shipping, and description changes go live immediately. If you swap photos, the listing may go back into review briefly.

Keep Your Listing Accurate

Once your item is listed, it's your responsibility to keep it up to date. If you've sold it elsewhere or changed your mind, close the listing straight away.

Leaving a sold-out item live leads to disappointed buyers, cancelled orders, and account flags. It only takes a few seconds — please don't skip this.

How to close a listing on PurvX
Our recommendation: To avoid managing stock across multiple platforms, list exclusively on PurvX. You'll never accidentally sell the same item twice or have to scramble to close listings elsewhere.

Close your listing when:

  • The item has sold — on PurvX or anywhere else
  • You've decided not to sell it anymore
  • The item is no longer in the condition described
